The owner, Jaime Malta Vacas, was born in Montemor-O-Novo, from a family with a long tradition of farming, bullfighting and horse breeding.

The appeal of nature and of the animal life led him to study Veterinary Medicine and becoming a Vet Doctor, with a career of more than 30 years now in the area of animal production, developed in two continents beyond Europe.

He had left Alentejo as a young adult, where he lived during his early years and that he loved so much. Due to personal reasons, he decides to settle in Ribatejo, enjoying a milder climate and close to some of the most important stud-farms.

In 2000, being almost 50 years old, he realized he had set the basis to start his own stud-farm and Pontével, near Cartaxo, saw his long lasting dream come true.

Actually, the breeding stands on a not very large group of Puro Sangue Lusitano mares, with much "Veiga" and "Alter Real" blood, and on a strong passion for the lusitano horse.

The pillars of this production mirror the steady search for balance between fineness, nobility and character, together with strength and endurance well known characteristics of the lusitano pure breed.

In spite of not having as our main concern the maintenance of the ancient lusitano horse, we make a strict selection looking for rideability, above average height, angular forms, and large and strong movements.

Our aim is to breed lusitano horses fit for sport. We try to have products not only with character, strength, fineness and working capacity, but also with dimension and athletic forms.
